The Duck House – Brighton

Hello!

I do apologise for how long I have neglected my blog for 😦 I know I promised this post to a few people so I’m sorry for the delay!

Me and the mother went on our annual trip to Brighton about 5 weeks ago now and I stumbled across the most amazing little shop in The Lanes. We were walking back from The Seven Stars (on an unrelated note – you should go here! They infuse their gin and vodka with all different flavours and oh my god it is amazing!) but we must have taken a wrong turning somewhere because we ended up walking past this:

So this is a shop. A Rubber Duck Shop! But sadly it was closed! Poor mother then had to listen to my raspberry and vanilla infused waffling about how urgently we had to return to this shop in the morning.

Look at all these ducks! I think I’m in the wrong job. This is where I should be working. There is a duck for every occasion! I particularly liked the wedding ducks which were available in “Mrs & Mrs”, “Mr & Mrs” and “Mr & Mr” which was a nice touch. I definitely spent far too much time in this shop but I’d never seen a rubber duck shop before! Eventually though I came out with the following:

Einstein Duck, Brighton Duck, Queens Guard (I think that’s what they are called correct me if I’m wrong) and SPYRO DUCK!! My poor long suffering flat mate lives with me and all these crazy creatures that seem to waddle their way into our flat but even she loved Spyro Duck! I was gifted the little death keyring duck from the nice man in the shop. I think he thought I was Quackers. He’d be correct.

So if you are ever in Brighton please go pay this charming little duck shop a visit! Trust me there will definitely be the right duck in there for you! They even have their own bags!

After the Duck shop we went to Choccy Woccy Doo Dah. Choccy Woccy Doo Dah is to Chocolate what the duck house is to Ducks. And look what I found!

Chocolate Duck! I would never eat it though so reluctantly had to put it back :(. I still have my chocolate wand from the Harry Potter Studio Tour which has now gone way past edible so chocolate novelties are a bit wasted on me. Big bag of Revels or peanut M&Ms though and I’m sold!

As if I had not encounted enough ducks today then I found even more on Brighton Pier! Managed to win these in the arcade:

We even had enough tickets left over to get mum a cuddly Donkey from Shrek 🙂

Apologies again for the delay for this post, and all of you who were submitting guesses for what Ducks I got in Brighton now have your answer!

And if you wanted to go to any of the places mentioned in this post I promise you will not be disappointed!

8am – Challenge Complete!

Challenge Complete!

Pinky & Perky's CIN Challenge

Hello everyone!

It has gone 8 in the morning on Sunday which means we have completed our 24 Hour Sleep Out! Considering it was so cold last night the sunshine has come out again this morning and warmed us up a tiny bit!

This has by far been the toughest challenge we have done so far which is surprising considering there was a lot more effort involved in caving Cheddar Gorge and climbing the o2 arena. We ache really badly, are freezing cold and have only had around 2 hours sleep each

We have raised so much for Children In Need today so thank you all! We do not have a total as of yet as we need to count it all up but thank you to everyone who has donated to us, watched our videos, read our posts and shared them to others.

We look forward to seeing how…

2am – Can’t Sleep!

Definitely not a comfy place to sleep…

Pinky & Perky's CIN Challenge

It is 2am and we can’t sleep.

We have resorted to doing laps around the service station to try and get rid of some of the achiness from laying on the floor for hours. We then decided to hunt down some cardboard boxes and made ourselves a cardboard bed to sleep on which made things a little more bearable while we were trying to sleep. Currently cannot decide which is worse at the moment: the cold or how uncomfortable the floor is.

Hopefully with the new cardboard bed we should be able to get a few hours sleep before people start coming in tomorrow morning. This is definitely a lot more challenging than we thought it would be.

See you soon

Pinky & Perky's CIN Challenge

OMG guys!

We checked our Just Giving page before we went to bed and we have had some of the most amazing donations since our first facebook live video!

Thank you to all you guys who have donated to Children In Need tonight, it really has made our evening knowing that we are making a difference by doing this.
We won’t name people as we know that not everyone will want their name put on a public blog but we just want you to know that we are so grateful and your donations are going to make such a difference to children and young people all over the country.

We did also receive one anonymous donation for the huge sum of £100 and a personalised poem! We have no idea who you are and if you wish to keep it that way then of course that is okay but we…

6pm – Nearly Half Way!

Nearly Half Way!

Pinky & Perky's CIN Challenge

Hello again,

Just a quick update. We are nearly halfway through the 24 hours now with 14 hours left to go. The rain has stopped thankfully but the sun has gone round the other side of the building so it is now a lot colder and we have started layering up.
We are cold, hungry, uncomfortable but still smiling!

Still lots of generous donations being received both on site and online so that is fabulous thank you so much!

We will be back around 10 pm with another update before we try and get some sleep!

Thank You

2pm – It’s Raining!

2nd update and the rain has come out!

Pinky & Perky's CIN Challenge

Hi Everyone!

Here is our 2pm update. We have been sitting at the services in our little camp for 6 hours now and are surprised at how generous people have been! Lots of money currently being raised for Pudsey and the amazing folk at BBC Children In Need which is fabulous.

Good old British weather did not let us down and the heavens have well and truly opened. The weather forecast did say rain from 1pm and exactly on schedule all of our lovely sunshine vanished and the rain began. We have resorted to hiding out under some clear recycling bags in an effort not get get absolutely drenched by the rain. So far this has been unsuccessful.

But now we are going to go back in time a bit: We did manage to get this photo before the rain started! As you can see our camp is very small so…

Pinky & Perky's CIN Challenge

Morning Everyone!

Today is the day! It’s 8 in the morning on Saturday and we have just set up our home for the next 24 hours. Unfortunately it is raining but we will not be deterred!! We are going to be blogging and vlogging our way through the next 24 hours with the occasional bout of facebook live to keep in contact with the lovely people who are supporting both us and Children In Need.

Above is our little “Camp Pudsey” which will be home for the next 24 hours.

Below is the first of our videos from 8am on the Saturday! Here we are feeling very chirpy as the sun decided to come out halfway through our video and grace us with it’s presence! How Kind!

Thank You to all of you who are following and donating to us! Here’s hoping we can raise a lot for Children In…
